Bread Choice

By Money Sick | December 16, 2007

This is Claude Monet, someone whom I admired for his work, not for his life. He is known to have an affair during his lifetime and he married a second time. I do not like unfaithful man.

The reason why I wrote about him is because of the calendar my brother gave me. In addition to the calendar, he had given me a loaf of bread on that day too.

I had got so tired of eating the same kind of food day in and day out. Everything is so expensive. Whether I buy the food back to cook or buy packed meals, they are equally costly.

That day, I bought a packet of bread myself. My brother gave me another one, and that make up 2 in total. I thought it would last me two days to finish the bread. However, that day, the whole family had bread dinner and bread supper. We finished up the two packet of bread.

I did not know how much I paid for the bread. It was only when my brother told me about the tag then I know. The Sunshine bread that I buy cost S$2.70 while the Gardenia rasin bread cost S$2.30. The Gardenia rasin bread seem a more worthy deal. I did not know that the bread which I had bought was so expensive! Later, my brother told me that the one which I bought is low in Sodium, low in fat and cholesterol.

It is obviously a wrong choice made. I even bought Kaya and Butter to go with the bread. Why should I bother about low in sodium and fats when I am going to put Kaya and Butter? I have margarine at home, but I like to eat the bread with Kaya and Planta butter. It is such a great combination with bread. It is as soon as Yat Kun Bread Toast!

The Gardenia bread is not bad. The rasin goes well with the bread and it is a very convenient way of eating — Just open and eat; there is no need to put butter and kaya. There are enough rasin on the bread (More raisin would even be better).

My Lesson: I do not want to buy Sunshine Light Whitebread (green package) next time. This is my first time buying this bread. I normally buy white bread at NTUC fairprice. Comparing the Gardenia raisin bread with Four Leaves cranberry bread, I would prefer the latter.
