Money and Politics
By Money Sick | July 6, 2007

It never crossed my mind that there would be such kind of politics in the internet world. I thought that Second Life people are ‘friendly’, there are so many ‘kind’ people in the United States, United Kingdom, and various parts of the world. Little did I know that I was wrong. In Second Life, I had experienced scheming people, sleazy people and various dishonest people. There are nice people as well.
If there is no such thing as Money, would there be such politics around? Would people betray one another, plot against one another to gain popularity and reach their ultimate goals. Intriguers would design plots and various devious schemes to ‘find ways and means’ of making opportune news, links to help them to reach the top of the ladder, though they may not sound obvious and direct.
Today I had written a few post about sltopsites, which is the targeted political talk of the day. Obviously sltopsites owner has already planted his seeds and these people are making use of such opportunity to create an issue out of their own blog. Do a search about sltopsites and they are among the first page of the search. They definitely reach their goals.

Where You Stand?
I have made use of this opportunity to write at Helium. This has given me the inspiration to write on this article. This topic is not my expertise. I am very bad in politics and scheming. But I just give it a try. In internet, everyone is free to sign up whatever programs and domain names they like. There is no need to ‘answer’ to anybody, as what some people said to be. Disclosure or privacy statement and so forth. What some people wish to see in other people website but they themselves do not even have one. Some of these people do not even have a gut to tell people who they are. We do not even know all the blah blah blah from the blog is whoever, just a name! But this is not my concern, when I visit webpages, any site which I do not like, I would not even border to leave any comment, I just move on. Websites which I like, I would not be deterred to tell the bloggers that they have great site, and for those that I really like, I offer to exchange links with them.
The politics of Internet chatting
What is internet chatting? I would consider it to be any form of exchange of information or communication between online users. There are various form of chatting in such a case. There are instant messaging services like Yahoo messaging, Msn messenger, Skype, ICQ, MIRC, Chatbox, and for other not ‘live’ chat, there could be email, message board, forum and leaving comments at websites or blogs or signing of guestbook.
In terms of internet, most business people want to be popular. Internet politics is just like any other office politics. It is a issues of money, the issues of internet community, making malicious remarks of people and trying various devious ways to gain attraction. Websites owner wants to gain popularity. They want to gain fame as well. Chatting is a form of social networking where website owners can exchange links and even exchange ideas on how they can have better traffic and links to their websites and things like that.
Links is the only way to get people to know about you. Links is ways to determine how well-establish your website is. Links will indirectly determine how popular your website is going to be and how popular it will be. For these reasons, leaving comments has been a new way of not only ‘chatting’ but in gaining ‘attraction’ and as a mean of ‘advertising’ for website.
No matter where you go and where you are, there are politics. I never know that there are internet politics until yesterday. Using comments as a way of directing curious to your website is a tactic used by many people. And of yesterday, I learn that another way to create popularity and curiosity to your website is to create news. Such intriguing and devious method of internet marketing can be thought of by such intriguers. I took off my hat to these people for their ‘great’ brains. However, I would not retort to this kind of meanness. What difference does it make between them and the people who are called bullies? Some of the people also take such opportunity to rub salts into other people’s wounds, taking and making use of such opportune time to leave comments on these people websites to direct more people to their website.
