Frugal Or Cheap
By Money Sick | July 3, 2007
If I have money, what would I do? I have not thought of that yet, for I am too busy with my current life, learning to make money. I am used to frugal living. I have not had the chance to experience the life of a rich person yet.
Frugal living means I do not dye my hair because the new hair which ultimately grow out from the root of my hair will still be black. I do not want to spend additional money every month to dye my hair. Frugal living also means that I do not spend money on branded clothes and expensive shoes. Cheap or expensive clothes, as long as they are clothes and as long as they serves to cover me, protect me, gave me warmth and comfort, it would suffice. I do not have permed hair. Beauty is never everlasting. Depending on yourself is the sure way to independant survival. Living a frugal means does not mean that I do not have formal clothes, and I am cheap. Frugal living just means saving money and don’t waste money on unnecessary things. But money will definitely be spent on necessary things.
This is how I would probably look like if I want to seduce a man, make extra money. However, that is no way and not my cup of tea.
Would you consider yourself to be frugal or cheap
It is always hard to part with our own hard-earned money. Money does not seem to be sufficient for everybody. To have more money, some people have more jobs in their life. These people believe in earning money using their hands and hard work. They save their money and invest their money to make more money. Yet there are also another group of people who will do anything for money. Some people resort to illegal means to have more money. They smuggle drugs, rob the bank and so on. There are another group of people, the intermediary of the frugal people and the people who will resort to illegal means of having more money. This are the people who are considered ‘cheap’.
Among these groups of people, I would consider myself to be frugal. Frugal living is simple living. Money is not spent on unnecessary items such as earrings, branded clothes, quality furniture, and expensive food. Money is spent on items on offer, discount sales, and only on needs and not wants. Food and things are not wasted. Things are recycled and any left over food are consumed for the next meal. There are no travels, no facials, no massage, no therapy, no cosmetic surgery and no clubbing. Every money that is earned are saved and spent on good use. Money earned are not lying idle in the bank. Money are diversified to yield more interests in various investment instruments. Frugal living depends on every ways and means to saves money. Cut-out coupons, rebates, credit cards savings are all taken into consideration. Frugal living not only saves money, frugal living is saving the earth — Things are recycled and not wasted.
A cheap way of living would not sound as good as a frugal way of living. In my opinion, cheap way of living would means you would do anything to have more money in your pocket. This includes things like ‘cheating’, fraud and other dishonest act. The person who is leading a cheap way of life may find ways and means to get free things in their life. This may includes things like lying to the cashier and stealing things from departmental stores. Some women may ‘sell’ their bodies for money, they seduce men, sleep with many men — have sex in exchange for money. Some men, the gigolo depends on women for money too. These for me are considered cheap.
There are people who are neither frugal nor cheap. People who can earn lots of money can afford not to have frugal living. They can afford to spend money on the luxury and have excess money for enjoyment and entertainment. They can afford to go for the unnecessary treatments like cosmetic surgery, lose weight program and wonder round the world perhaps!
